Short Answer: No, partners are not essential.
Long Answer: Partners are not required as our classes are rotational, allowing you to dance with different people, learn faster, and make new friends.
If you prefer not to rotate with your partner, let the check-in desk know so they can inform the instructors. We recommend rotating partners within the class, as this helps you learn faster by dancing with more experienced dancers and allows you to meet new people.

After class, we play music and have freestyle dancing. It is a great time to be social, dance with fellow dancers, and practice new moves. Leads ask follows, follows ask leads !!!
-
In a class we begin with a brief warm up. We will then teach you the basics of Modern Jive, these include how to either lead or follow.
We teach 2 moves during a class as well as how to join them together.

In this class we build on the foundations of our beginner class, to improve your technique as well as provide variations to the beginner moves. You need to attend beginner classes first to make sure that you have the correct dancing foundations to progress. You will need to have a dance with a teacher and have a progress check to see if you are ready for the next level.
